Great barbecue, klitzy old place, great service, have a little bit of everything for a roadside diner, good salad bar, beer with dinner, great take out!!!
Great hosts, very helpful and understanding, we had a tent camp over there, came late, without booking and still got everything we needed! Totally recomended!
We had dinner there tonight around 5. I was worried about going as I heard it was new owners. But we decided why not. Unfortunately didn't catch our waitresses name. But she was excellent. So was the rest of the staff. As it got busy we had a nice gentleman come make sure our Drinks were filled ect. We started out with loaded chicken nachos. Oh my!! They are HUGE. But so very good. We ended up taking 90% home for later. My husband and brother in law had all you can crack crab. And I had the Prime rib. I was so happy I was able to get it rare. It seems like very few restaurants know how to cook it right. So I'm always stuck with it cooked more than I would like. We loved the CLEAN well stocked salad bar. Such a hard thing to find around here. We live close by and can't wait to go back and try some of their new menu items. Definitely a job well done at Hoovers tonight.
It's adequate, sufficient to keep you dry and cool, but it was missing a lot of basic items like forks, enough toilet paper, lids that match the pans, matches and briquettes for the grill, etc. The windows have spider webs in them. The handsoap in the bathroom had been watered down several times. And the walls were super thin, so we could hear the conversations and the stupid dog barking coming from the other half of the house. So 3 stars is really generous.
Ate lunch, food was good people were nice. We could tell they had just opened for the season and hadn't found their groove. But all in a good experience.
